Home Made Instagrams

I’m always slightly behind in trends.

This is not a statement strictly related to photography but since this is a photo blog, I should probably stick with the theme.

An example: I was always happier with film and didn’t purchase my first digital SLR until three years ago.

Similarly, I’ve never fully gotten behind the Instagram craze. For one thing, I don’t own an iPhone. It’s true, I downloaded Vignette for my Android but even then, I don’t use it often and I almost never post the results.

However, I’ve always had a deep appreciation for old school film/cameras and LOVE the re emergence that has been propelled by Lomography.

For Christmas my mom upgraded me from a Diana Mini to a Diana F+.

In honor of that camera and as something to do on my holiday, I decided to edit several of the photos from the LA trip. All these photos came out of my digital Nikon 300s.

I will say that I still don’t particularly care for Instagram but it was a lot of fun to play with these photos.

  2. Wow! Such gorgeous shots! Love the effect…very inspiring. As someone who loves the ease of using instagram, this is very motivating to go out and use the actual camera(s) to get those effects. Lovely!
